Chapter 5
“Wade! Do you want me to fire you? I’ll ask the finance department to settle your salary right now!” Gary was on the verge of losing control.
But his roar didn’t make Wade compromise.
“Mr. Durant, I’m not lying! The police have the death certificate. I’ll send you all the information!”
Wade endured Gary’s questioning, feeling helpless.
Gary hung up and stared at his phone.
He was no longer gloomy. He became panicked, which I never saw in his face before.
The last time he looked like this was when Linda left him to go abroad.
Gary held the phone tightly in his hand, the veins on the back of his hand bulging,
I gradually lost my consciousness. As the blood under my body became a big puddle, I became too weak to get up.
In a daze, I heard Gary call 911 with a trembling voice. He knelt in front of me and carefully picked me up but didn’t dare to move me.

His body, which was always warm, became cold when he hugged me, and he was shaking even more violently than

Besides, he was so noisy, which made me dizzy.
So, I had no choice but to put aside the severe pain and force my eyes open.

“You caused Mia to die, dug up her grave, and destroyed her ashes, and now you’ve kicked another of my children to death. You’re a monster!”
“Let me go! I hate you!”
Gary held me tightly and refused to let go:
“Rachel, I really didn’t know this was Mia’s grave, let alone that you were pregnant again. Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I know you blame yourself for not taking good care of Mia and losing her, but she’s dead, and I won’t blame you. Why did you hide it from me and make such a fuss?”
