Chapter 213 The Core of Business Operations.
“What’s your game, Maggie?” Sierra’s expression changed, her heart unsettled, sensing an underlying
tension.
“Not much, just highlighting the compromise in Ms. Cameron’s integrity. Maggie remained composed, her gaze fixed on Sierra with a seemingly amiable smile.
Locked in a gaze with Maggie’s deep, round eyes, Sierra felt a shiver run down her spine, an indescribable coldness enveloping her.
No, Maggie was undoubtedly more intricate than she let on.
She must have a bigger plan brewing.
However, Sierra could not decipher what it entailed.
“Sierra, it’s almost your turn, you should get ready too,” Danielle interjected, rushing over and sensing trouble upon seeing Mia present.
Without hesitation, she realized that another incident had transpired in that brief moment just now.
“Ms. Cameron, would you consider swapping your necklace? The one meant for Maggie seems more fitting for you because of its giant logo. Your current one needs more impact since the logo is too small to be noticed. As a member of the Cameron family, I know that every luxury you enjoy is a courtesy of them. Given Luster Corporation’s current woes, I assume you’d be inclined to extend a helping hand.”
Mia smiled, countering Sierra’s remarks.
She followed up with, “Naturally, if you’d rather not, that’s completely fine. Your current necklace isn’t particularly remarkable, after all.”
“Mia, you’ve crossed a line!”
Sierra’s rage trembled through her, and as she moved to leave, she abruptly stopped and turned back.
Her once poised and refined demeanor now carried a hint of fierceness.
With red eyes and unsteady breath, Sierra seemed pushed to her breaking point.
Maggie also stood up, joining Mia’s side, and spoke softly, “Mia’s right. You have the option not to wear it if you don’t like it. Your parents will understand.”
“Maggie, Mial Just you wait! You’ll regret this!” Sierra declared fiercely, tearing off the necklace around her neck and tossing it onto the dressing table before storming out.
Maggie observed her departure with a determined look in her eyes, her lips pressed together firmly.
If Sierra opted not to wear any jewelry from Luster Corporation, both Master Cameron and Ronald would not take it lightly.
Profit was at the core of business operations.
If the Camerons were flourishing, Sierra’s occasional stubbornness would be overlooked.

However, with the Camerons facing challenges from all sides and suffering significant losses, they were striving to turn the tide. This time, in a bid to revitalize their fading glory, they increased their investments and became one of the major sponsors of the competition.
Ronald, in particular, had a specific request: besides airing a brief advertisement for the Camerons‘ real estate, he wanted to ensure that Sierra and Maggie received considerable screen time, particularly to showcase the jewelry they wore.
At first, the production team had reservations about airing the advertisement for Luster Corporation due to the Camerons‘ damaged reputation. However, enticed by Ronald’s generous offer, they ultimately agreed.
Now, with Sierra taking the stage without any jewelry, a storm of fury could be anticipated after Ronald found out.
It felt like all his efforts for the event would go to waste.
As Heidi finished up Maggie’s makeup and hair, Maggie settled back into her chair.
Then, Mia and Heidi carefully adorned her with the rubies Nathael had sent her.
The design was all about luxury and had a vintage vibe. It was simple yet dripping with opulence. There was a rumor going around that it was the favorite jewelry set of the seventh empress of Yatria, giving off this powerful vibe mixed with feminine allure.
“Wow, this is perfect for Maggiel Nathael really knows his stuff, Mia praised.
Maggie grinned. Truth was, Mia never really had anything against Nathael. She was just a little concerned. for Maggie.
From the looks of it now, she could relax a little.
Over on the sidelines, Alex’s eyes twitched a bit upon hearing this. If it was someone else, he would have a thing or two to say.
Now, he simply dropped his gaze as if the whole thing did not concern him at all.
Maggie looked at herself in the mirror, feeling a bit surreal.
In her past life, she gave her chance to compete in this competition to Vanessa and skipped the whole. thing entirely. Plus, Luster Corporation had not faced this kind of setback, so there was no need for such a desperate gamble.
However, everything had changed.
Even though it was tough, she had últimately changed the trajectory of her past life, hadn’t she?
Maggie delicately ran her fingers over the ruby on the necklace. Its exquisite Pigeon Blood hue perfectly complemented her fair skin, lending her an air of mystery and grandeur.
Originally, her plan involved having Nathael borrow a set of jewelry from Ericko’s collection at the Adams‘ and send it over. This would enable her to assist in promoting the Adam Group through publicity.
Later on, by comparing the jewelry on her body with Sierra’s and then stirring up public opinion, she was confident she could elevate Adam Group’s jewelry to a new level.

Despite her willingness to help the Adams, Nathael had no objections, but Ericko refused.
“Nana, you need to be cautious in your dealings with the Camerons now. The family doesn’t require your assistance in this manner. While I know you want the family to prosper, we also want to see you flourish.
“Besides, I’m not that weak to need you to boost Adam Group. Just go with whatever you fancy for the competition. Nathael has a lot of jewelry in his stash; he can hook you up.”
As Maggie hung up, she felt a bit lost.
These were her family.
It was a shame that in her past life, she was taken in so easily.
Maggie hid the hurt in her eyes and decided not to dwell on it further.
Later, Ericko arranged for someone to send her five or six sets of jewelry. Among them were two high–end styles never released by the Adams, so even if she wore them, nobody would recognize them.
Additionally, there were several pieces from his previous collection, each one a priceless treasure.
As Maggie snapped back to reality, a new plan formed in her mind, inspired by Ericko,
“Mia, do you have any jewelry from Adam Group?” Maggie asked, her eyes gleaming with excitement.
“Yeah, I’ll have it sent to you in about ten minutes, Mia replied, checking the time and quickly making a call.
Maggie was uncertain if she could pull it off in time, but spurred by a sudden impulse, she resolved to give it her best shot and leave the rest to fate.
The venue chosen for the competition was the bustling Aquapolis Grand Theater, situated in the heart of the city.
Once a renowned and opulent establishment in the past, the Aquapolis Grand Theater had seen a decline over the years.
However, recent government funding had facilitated its renovation and expansion, rendering it grand and dignified once again.
Mia owned several properties, including a few permanent residences, one of which was nearby. Despite her incomplete jewelry collection, given her penchant for extravagance, she likely had quite a substantial
amount.
Twenty minutes later, it was Maggie’s turn to grace the stage.
Draped in a fresh gown, Maggie strolled confidently to the center of the stage. Meanwhile, Sierra, tucked away in her private dressing room, tuned into the live broadcast of the competition on her phone, stealing occasional glances at the screen.
“Ms. Cameron, Maggie is about to make her appearance.
At the cue, Sierra’s interest was piqued, and she sat up attentively, fixing her gaze on the screen with a wicked gleam in her eyes, eagerly anticipating Maggie’s potential embarrassment.

As Maggie stepped into view, the straps of her dress would definitely slip down, causing the garment to sag. Surely Maggie’s face would be a sight to see. Sierra thought with a chuckle!
