Maggie was taken aback. “Who?”
“Ericko,” Nathael repeated as he stared at her. He wanted an answer today.
Maggie stared at him blankly. Why did he mention Ericko out of nowhere?
And what does he mean by breaking up?
“What’s the matter with Ericko? What are you talking about?” Maggie couldn’t help but ask, and with that, a ridiculous thought crossed her mind.
Did he think that there was something going on between me and Ericko?
Nathael pursed his lips and kept quiet.
They stood in front of the door without saying anything to each other.
Then Nathael lowered his gaze and showed her the video that Beth had sent earlier.
Maggie watched the video intently.
It was Ericko and her in front of the pizza place on the day of their reunion.
She was slightly tipsy, and the alcohol made her excited.
Ericko was equally happy. So they were standing close to each other.
Suddenly, Maggie recalled the incident at the hospital, where Nathael was oddly annoyed after seeing her with Ericko.
He had been acting strangely for some time.

She handed the phone back to Nathael and asked with gritted teeth, “Are you thinking that something is going on between me and Ericko?”

Even though Nathael knew Maggie,didn’t love him, the mere thought of her getting close to another man made him uncontrollably angry.
“Damn it! Nathael, do you see me as a promiscuous woman?” Maggie lashed out in anger.
Maggie felt suffocated.
Despite approaching Nathael several times in her previous life, she never intended to manipulate him using her body or appearance.

Maggie avoided his gaze and said coldly, “Please leave. Goodnight.”
She shut the door without waiting for him to say anything.
Nathael stood outside for a long time, but he didn’t have the courage to knock again.
Maggie leaned against the door and cried non–stop. Her emotions were like rollercoaster rides. She was happy and sad the next second.
Maggie knew that he hadn’t left.
However, she felt upset thinking about his recent coldness.
They never had a good start. It was normal for him to not trust her, considering all the shady things she had done. Maggie knew that she wasn’t trustworthy in his eyes.
However, one wouldn’t be bothered when the one they didn’t care about hurt them..
Just like Joseph, he was like a joke to Maggie no matter what he did.
When you care about someone, everything he does towards you will make your emotions fluctuate.
Maggie felt upset, and she didn’t want to think about Nathael anymore.
She curled up on the sofa and spaced out.
Actually, it wasn’t a big deal when she thought about it now, but she was saddened by the fact that he didn’t trust her.

Jimmy paused at the mention of Joyce. “You must be dreaming to think that I would appease her.”
