Gideon was leaning against the wall smoking, and stood up straight when he saw me.
I nodded naturally and greeted him.
He didn’t expect me to be so calm. His eyes turned red with anger.
Gideon grabbed my hand and looked at Bart beside me provocatively. “Ethel, don’t you have anything to say to me?” Bart was worried that I was in danger and wanted to come forward, but I stopped him. “It’s someone I know.” “Okay, I’ll wait for you upstairs.”
After Bart left, I looked at Gideon.
“I thought I made it clear to you the day I left.”
“You agreed to stay with me at our university. Why did you leave me? I have been looking for you for a long time.”
I said, “You said that you would treat me well forever. What’s the point of talking about promises when we don’t love each other anymore?”
He lowered his head with tears.
Gideon said, “I… I’m sorry. I will treat you well in the future…”
I said, “But I don’t want to have a future with you anymore.”
He looked at me with tears in his eyes and asked the question I had said to him many times.

Why didn’t he go home? Why didn’t he introduce me? Why was what he gave to others almost the same as what he
